The Caption This game is played every Wednesday at 12PM Eastern. Every week, I’ll post an image from an episode of M*A*S*H and ask readers to provide a caption. This is not a competition, there is no winner, and you can share as many captions as you want.
This week’s image is from the Season 9 episode “A War for All Seasons.” Take a look and hit the comments with your best idea for a caption.

Check back next Wednesday for another installment of Caption This.

Here lies Charles Emerson Winchester III. His cause of death is attributed to betting on the Brooklyn Dodgers. The world is a better place knowing this pompous windbag is no longer here.
(in voice of Rod Serling) “As war swept through Korea, a war for all seasons, one man fell victim of his own greed. He thought he had enough knowledge and skill, but enough is sometimes not enough… in the M*A*S*H zone.”
Charles was knocked over with shock when, once everyone realized it was, indeed, 1951 in the episode they were in, Charles wasn’t supposed to be there: Frank Burns was and had his bunk, Henry Blake was alive and in charge, and he met Trapper (Worse than Hunnicut, he thought). Even as Charles laid there, still very confused, he mumbled, “It isn’t even 1952 yet. Everything happens in 1952.” Plus, Radar didn’t even remember him. This bothered Winchester less, of course.
Hmmmmm, I’ll have to have a word with the gardener about the landscaping around here. He just doesn’t seem to be trying that hard.
Said like a news reel reader:
“The scarecrow built by Peirce and Hunnicut resembling Major Winchester made had fallen. One can tell by the bits of stuffing falling out. Ah… it was Charles who pushed it down in anger at being the butt of another prank. Bravo, fellahs!”
