Episode of the Week: Yankee Doodle Doctor

The current Episode of the Week is “Yankee Doodle Doctor” from Season 1. It aired Sunday, October 22nd, 1972. Jerry Mayer wrote the episode. Laurence Marks wrote the episode. Lee Philips directed it.

Here’s my capsule summary:

Hawkeye and Trapper sabotage an official Army documentary about the 4077th and instead direct and star in their own honest if irreverent film.

  1. This is a super funny episode, not only because Hawkeye, Trapper-John, and Radar act like complete idiots, but also because of the General. *Spoilers*

He was embarrassed by the pictures Hawkeye and Trapper had put in the movie, and so were Margret, Frank, and Henry. At the end of the movie, Hawkeye did a very serious talking with the audience. The General stood up, said that he wants to keep the opening of the movie and the ending of it. Henry asks about the rest of the movie, the General laughs and says, keep it, we all need something to laugh about. This episode was hilarious to me.
