Music of M*A*S*H Updated

It took much longer than anticipated but I’ve finally finished updating the Music of M*A*S*H section with a new page examining all of the classical music Charles listened to on the show. I’ve worked on this on and off for several years but never imagined it would take me so long to complete.

I couldn’t have done it without the help of M*A*S*H fan and classical music enthusiast TWoods. He suggested creating a page exploring classical music on M*A*S*H. He also compiled an exhaustive list of each and every piece of classical music Charles listened to. It’s something I couldn’t have done on my own, even with the original Twentieth Century-Fox music cue sheets to help me.

Initially, I planned to include brief audio excerpts of each song but after finishing roughly half of them, I realized I’d taken them from the audio track on the DVDs with the laugh track. The laughter makes it hard to hear the music. I couldn’t stand the thought of starting over, so I scrapped the audio excerpts entirely.

If you have time during the holidays, be sure to check out the new Charles and Classical Music page and see which classical pieces you remember hearing on M*A*S*H. Many thanks again to TWoods for his help.

  1. Thank you, RJ – that was very nice of you to say those things. All the credit, though, definitely goes to you for maintaining one of (and probably the best) websites for M*A*S*H. Thanks for everything you do!!
