June 30th, 2018 Update: M*A*S*H began streaming on Hulu on June 29th. See this post for details. I’ve closed comments on this post.

M*A*S*H will soon be available on Hulu, thanks to a massive deal between the streaming service and 20th Century Fox Television Distribution. All 11 seasons will start streaming “later this summer,” according to Variety. Launched publicly in March 2008, Hulu competes with Netflix and Amazon.

This news comes more than a year after M*A*S*H disappeared from Netflix in April 2016, angering countless fans.

The agreement between Hulu and 20th Century Fox includes almost 3,000 episodes from more than 25 TV shows new and old. In addition to M*A*S*H, Hulu has secured streaming rights to shows like How I Met Your Mother, The Bob Newhart Show, The Grinder, NYPD Blue, Bones, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and St. Elsewhere. A complete list can be found at Variety.

Hulu is currently only available in the United States and Japan. In the United States, subscriptions cost $7.99 per month with advertisements or $11.99 per month without ads.

  1. While this doesn’t affect me personally, since I do have the DVDs, and don’t have a Hulu subscription, I’m actually happy to hear this news, if only because it will give old fans another outlet to watch the series and potentially allow new people to discover the series. For those peoples’ sakes, I do hope this deal last longer than the Netflix deal. I’m guessing it will, since it’s a bigger deal, including quite a few shows.

    1. It is now October 2, 2017 and MASH is not on the program search. How much longer? Or are we not getting it added?

  2. Remember when Hulu used to be good? They used to essentially be like an alternative to YouTube where you could watch full episodes of rare TV shows without having to worry about them being nuked for copyright. Then they became a paid service and now they’re essentially competition for Netflix and crap like that.

    1. Seriously? You expect everything for free? Amazon and Netflixs have the best content going at a fraction of cable TV. The shows on Netflixs below away regular TV by a mile. All this costs money. Netflixs is now pushing a 100M subscribers. Basic Netflix and Hulu subscriptions run $7.99/month.

      1. I agree people want everything for free like nobody has to pay for anything on the Netflix or Hulu end of things servers infrastructure people are mostly idiots I guess we just have to live with it

      2. I think the complaint was more to do with a decline in programming quality after becoming a paid service, which I can definitely empathize with.

  3. Fingers crossed that Fox coughed up a few bucks and finally transferred the masters to HD.

    1. That’s what I’m trying to find out. That and the film Misery started July went to watch and it’s gone.

  4. Can’t wait. I’ve been ordering the DVD’s from the library and some are scratched. Can’t wait!

  5. Good day, folks!

Is there any word on when M*A*S*H is coming to Hulu? I’ve been a subscriber for years and they are showing no indication of when it’s coming 🙁

    1. I don’t see it actually happening. All the other shows that were mentioned along with mash are already there. Something must have gone wrong. And it’s the end of the summer.

  6. End of Summer is officially over September 22 (not yet). Tech. Hulu employee told me 11 Seasons is going to be watchable by customers. Mash has special date/show because their 40th anniversary is on September 17,2017!

    1. Did the Hulu employee you spoke to give you an exact date? Because it’s the 19th of September and MASH is nowhere to be found, nor have there been any press releases or promotional materials/commercials popping up advertising the release. All of the other shows mentioned in the press release are available, but not MASH…

    1. I chatted online with a person at Hulu and they told me that the mash tv series is a title to which they do not have access. Pretty sad.

      1. Does Hulu need to issue a public reaction since there were literally dozens of articles stating the imminent arrival of M*A*S*H?

  7. i joined thinking mash would be here and i am not about to pay another month while these lying jerks pull one over on us

    1. Did the same. I cancelled 5 minutes after buying my subscription because it’s December and no M*A*S*H to be found.

There are reruns of it on YouTube TV on weekday evenings.

  8. If Hulu starts showing all the mash episodes I definitely will restart my subscription! I want the DVDs but can’t quite afford the set yet

  9. Well here we are at the November 5 th and no MASH
    🙁
looks like last man standing finally started(thumbs up) great show!!!!
I only have a couple other shows I really like to watch on NetFlix once there go NetFlix get s to boot. I am sick of the BS of shows popping up and burning out like popcorn
I once was a hard core believer in NetFlix but there sun has long sense set.
Netflix day are number for me

  10. NOVEMBER 10 AND NO MASH!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM OUT OF HERE AT THE END OF THIS MONTH…LYING BASTARDS
    NO MASH NO ME

  11. One option to for quasi streaming is You Tube TV. I use the DVR functionality to record episodes.

  12. I WILL sign up once MASH is available!! Also, I would really enjoy the BBC Pride & Prejudice series from 1980. (Underscore; 1980)

  13. We’re lucky in the UK. On Freeview channel True Entertainment, MASH has been running on a loop for at least 2-3 years. This was how I discovered the show, purely by accident.
I happened to begin watching during the early Winchester seasons, and some of the episodes are on their 3rd or fourth loop now. For some reason though it’s the early years that whizz by, while to be honest by S10/11 I’m about done. The programmers thought the same last time out – I believe they skipped some of the later stuff and went straight to the pilot.
Currently we’re on early S7: although the ‘glory years’ are probably S3-5, I’m still impressed by the quality of writing on Ogden Stiers’ debut outings.
GFA gets randomly shown – sometimes on the end of S11, sometimes on its own schedule.

  14. Good news: All 11 seasons of M*A*S*H are on Hulu Plus as of June 29, 2018! The video appears to have been remastered in HD and looks fantastic on a 1080p television.

Bad news: The video has also been reformatted from its original broadcast 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9. Unbelievable. :_(

    1. I watched several eps before I made up my mind, but I think the widescreen conversion looks fine…there was more image on the negatives than had been used, and the slight cropping was tastefully done…the show looks brand new.

My concern however, is that the hour-long eps are now in their edited/split half-hour versions.

  15. I’m closing comments on this post now that M*A*S*H is streaming on Hulu.

See this post for details and discussion about the new HD transfers.
