It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post celebrating 13+ years online and yet here we are a year later. You can read over last year’s post for a brief history of how MASH4077TV.com came to be. Despite my best efforts, I remain unable to determine when exactly the earliest incarnation of this website went online. It may have been late 1998. It may have been early-to-mid-1999. I doubt very much I will ever know for sure. For the purposes of anniversaries, I suppose April 1999 will remain the official launch date.
I know there hasn’t been a lot of new content lately. Right now I’m focusing on my other website, Television Obscurities, as it approaches its 10th anniversary later this year. The Name That Episode game continues to be wildly popular. And the Episode Spotlight blog feature seems to have taken off. I also hope to launch a monthly column at some point. I have a number of other things in various stages of completion.
I still haven’t written an article on the 2008 Malibu Creek State Park site restoration, something I’ve wanted to do since 2008. I have an article about the P.A. announcers half-completed that I’ll try to finish in the next few months. I’ve also started working on an article about cut scenes (not scenes cut in syndication but scenes that were filmed and never broadcast at all) or alternate takes of scenes but there really isn’t a lot of information out there on the topic of cut or alternate scenes so I’m a bit stalled at the moment.
I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to identify all the bloopers and outtakes that exist for M*A*S*H in the hopes that there might be some snippets of scenes that were actually filmed but later cut for time. I may need to call upon the expertise of the my fellow fans for that project, though. I’d like to put together a few more Music of M*A*S*H entries when I have the time. And who wouldn’t love to see a prop spotlight on the various bathrobes worn by various characters over the course of the series?
So here’s to another year of MASH4077TV.com and another year of M*A*S*H fandom.

An article on cut scenes and alternate takes sounds really interesting! “Our Finest Hour” (7×04-05) seems to provide proof that there may have been an alternate print of the pilot in existence, biggest example being Frank gets in an extra, “Animals…” as he starts nibbling on Margaret’s neck while they spy on Hawkeye propositioning Lt. Dish.
