Characters Played by More than One Actor, Part 2

I wrote about characters played by more than one actor or actress last week. Almost immediately after posting it, I remembered that the character of Boone was played by two actors during Season One. In “M*A*S*H – The Pilot,” he was played by Bruno Kirby, Jr. (credited as B. Kirby, Jr.). In “Chief Surgeon Who?,” “Henry, Please Come Home” and “Germ Warfare,” however, Boone was played by Robert Gooden. The character of Private Lorenzo Boone originated in the novel and was played by Bud Cort in the movie.

In the comments, PinkPagoda suggested that the character of Mr. Kwang, the bartender for the officer’s club, may have been played by two different actors. Clyde Kusatsu was credited as Kwang Duk in “Officers Only” and “Henry In Love” during Season Two. In “There Is Nothing Like A Nurse” during Season Three, Leland Sun played a character named Mr. Kwang. However, whether they were actually supposed to be the same character is unknown.

For the record, another Mr. Kwang appeared in “Dear Comrade” as a houseboy hired by Charles.

  1. I cannot see the pictures for the two new posts. Hopefully that is because you are “in progress” but I don’t know. I only see red x’s – however I can see the other pix fine.

    Thanks!!!
