M*A*S*H Returns to TV Land on February 20th

M*A*S*H will return to cable channel TV Land on Monday, February 20th (Washington’s Birthday/President’s Day in the United States) with a 12-hour marathon running 9AM to 9PM ET. The day after the marathon, M*A*S*H begins airing from 4-6PM ET every weekday.

Back in January 2007, TV Land became the third cable channel to air repeats of M*A*S*H (after FX and The Hallmark Channel). From 2006 to 2010, the series aired on both TV Land and The Hallmark Channel, then from 2010 to 2013 it aired only on TV Land. M*A*S*H hasn’t been seen on TV Land since September 2013.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m having a hard time keeping track of when and where M*A*S*H is airing on television. Once TV Land starts airing M*A*S*H again later this month, the series will be seen on three different cable channels in the United States. SundanceTV began airing repeats last November while AMC started airing M*A*S*H last month. The series also airs regularly on broadcast network MeTV.

Yes! That’s exciting. I’ve been without steady MASH episodes airing on TV channels I get for far too long.

I boycotted TV Land years ago when it became clear that their mindset had totally shifted from preserving classic TV for future generations to cranking out their own crappy original sitcoms starring has-been actors.

I couldn’t agree more. TV Land’s Nick at Nite used to have a slogan–“Better living through good TV.” That was back when they showed funny stuff, such as Green Acres, Get Smart, and the Dick Van Dyke Show.

Now it’s Hilary Duff and people I don’t know in an MA-rated show with MA-rated commercials you might encounter even if you’re just trying to get a little dose of King of Queens or older Roseanne episodes. Very disappointing.

It’s great to see M*A*S*H being shown on so many cable channels now.

If only one of them would make the whole series streaming like it was on Netflix…
