New Book Features Artwork By Loretta Swit

Earlier this month, a hardcover book called SwitHeart: The Watercolour Artistry & Animal Activism of Loretta Swit was published. It features 65 paintings and drawings by Loretta Swit and proceeds go to support her campaign to end animal cruelty. I generally don’t report news about members of the M*A*S*H cast unless it somehow involves M*A*S*H but I’ve always made a point of mentioning books written by a cast member.

SwitHeart is collection of artwork and not an autobiography or memoir. So while the preview available at Amazon indicates M*A*S*H is mentioned–and a 1981 painting of the M*A*S*H cast by Bernie Fuchs is reproduced in the book–I wouldn’t suggest buying a copy if you’re hoping for some behind-the-scenes stories.

If you are interested in buying the book, it’s available at Amazon. You can also purchase it through the Ultimate Symbol website, which offers signed copies, a digital version, greeting cards, posters, and limited edition Giclee prints.

Swit has been promoting the book and you can find interviews with her at Smashing Interviews Magazine, Huffington Post, and Tinseltown Talks.

  1. This is probably the wrong place for this, but I can’t seem to find a better one so here goes:

On Youtube there is a blooper clip of Loretta Swit singing (with a dubbed track?) on a variety show wit hBob Hope re snow at Christmas.

It is only a few seconds long but it is worth watching:

Loretta does look exceptionally beautiful in this one:

The clip starts at approx 2: 15 in to approx 3:05.
