Have you noticed this goof? In the Season 8 episode “Are You Now, Margaret?” during a scene in the Swamp, the side of the tent can be seen rolled up to make room for filming.
I had always assumed the tent (in the MASH universe) allowed for rolling up the side, particularly in nice weather. Perhaps someone who has served in such conditions can verify?
There are a couple of episodes where the sides of the tent are shown rolled up due to warm weather. It’s not a goof.
