Changes at

You may have noticed there was no Monday M*A*S*H Discussion post this morning. That’s because I’ve made the tough decision to spend less time working on this website. I’ve realized that I need to do a better job managing my limited free time. Unfortunately, just isn’t a priority. It’s a hobby.

For a long time, I’ve struggled to devote even an hour or two each week to writing discussion posts, scheduling rounds of the Name That Episode game, and answering e-mails. And now I need to cut back even more.

I’m not abandoning or taking a hiatus. The current Name That Episode game will continue twice a week. I will keep reporting any M*A*S*H news. And if I have the time, I will try to work on some of the numerous ideas and projects I have for the site. I’m actually putting the finishing touches on a comprehensive overview of the classical music Charles listened to on M*A*S*H. It may not be completed this year but it’s nearly done. I also want to continue exploring M*A*S*H memorabilia.

To be honest, you probably won’t notice much of a difference. Aside from discontinuing the weekly Monday M*A*S*H Discussion posts, not much will change. It’s been years since I’ve been able to offer regular updates. I wish I had the same amount of free time I did when I started this website over 20 years ago. But I just don’t. I’m sure I’m not the only one trying to juggle work and family and hobbies.

Thank you for understanding. Keep watching M*A*S*H and please keep visiting if you have the time.

  1. Hey RJ. We appreciate what you do, maintaining a great website for a great show. I definitely know and understand the balancing act needed between our job, family and hobbies. My visits here definitely won’t change! And looking forward to your addition of Winchester’s classical music overview!

  2. You have created a wonderful website, if you walked away today and merely kept the site online, you still would have given a wonderful present to M*A*S*H fans. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do!

  3. I’m sorry you won’t be working on the site as much for selfish reasons, namely how much I’ve enjoyed the content. Of course, I completely understand your need to step back from it. It’s supposed to be a labor of love for you and if it’s no longer that then by all means you shouldn’t keep up at the same pace. Anyway, what you’ve built over all these years has given us something to enjoy and contribute to so it’s still a vibrant site. That’s a testament to what you’ve accomplished. Thanks so much for doing it!
