John Rappaport will be the guest on Stu’s Show this Wednesday (July 5th). Rappaport served as producer and later supervising producer on M*A*S*H from 1979 to 1983. He also wrote or co-wrote 10 episodes, including “Period of Adjustment,” “Death Takes a Holiday,” “The Life You Save,” and “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen.”

Hosted by Stu Shostak, Stu’s Show is an Internet radio show devoted to TV history. It airs live every Wednesday at 7PM ET/4PM PT.

Here’s the official description for Wednesday’s broadcast:

From his humble beginnings as a staff writer during the early 70s on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” to producing and writing the last four seasons of “M*A*S*H” (including the show’s finale) as well as contributing scripts to “Maude”, “The Odd Couple”, “All in the Family”, and “Night Court” among many others, John has had a great career…and along with that career are a ton of wonderful stories and memories. We’ll get the whole scoop from John’s POV, we’ll have some clips for you to enjoy…and we’ll also talk about the accusations some critics have of “M*A*S*H” being too preachy in its last years…plus we’ll read your e-mails!

Visit the official Stu’s Show website to find an e-mail address to send any questions you’d like John Rappaport to answer.

  1. You can download the Stu Shostack shows for 99 cents each (or get a 4th one for free if buying 3). They only touched on a few parts of Rappaport’s “M*A*S*H” stories during the 3 hours of this interview. But, for true “M*A*S*H” fans, I’d say 99 cents is a bargain if you’ve been wanting to find out what happened to Potter’s original painting from “Picture This”, or if you want to hear the story about what happened to the clapboard that was used in filming the final shot of the series….!

Oh, and John Rappaport plans to to be on the show again sometime this fall, when he’ll really get into the “M*A*S*H” stuff!
