Round 2 of the Name That Episode game ends next Tuesday (August 5th), some two years and five months after it started. I’ve noticed over the past few months that fewer people seem to be participating so I thought rather than jump right into Round 3, I’d check to see if there’s any interest in continuing the game for another round. Or if there is any changes that would make it more interesting.
The first round of the game featured prominently images of the main cast. For the second round I tried to find images that would be a little more difficult to identify. Some were. Many weren’t. There are a lot of eagle-eyed viewers out there with incredible memories. If there is a third round, it will probably start in mid-August to give me time to start collecting images.

August 1st, 2014 Update: Name That Episode III will begin Tuesday, September 9th.
I will be interested to see what Round 3 is like. I have been visiting the site for a couple of years and there are very few of the images in Round 2 that I have been able to correctly identify, and I have never managed to beat some of the “eagle eyes” that visit here. I thought I was a serious M*A*S*H fan, but I take my hat off to the regulars on this site for their knowledge of the show.
RJ, there should be 2 more episodes to be guessed, not one.
I would definitely be interested in a Round 3. I love playing the game and it gives me good incentive to revisit the episodes for the guesses I missed. Please continue with the game, it’s great!!

I definitely enjoy participating in the game RJ, but if it takes too much time from your schedule collecting images for the game I certainly understand that you would like to take a break from this routine and try something new or take a vacation for a month or two. But yes, I do enjoy your game and would encourage you to keep doing it as long as you still enjoy hosting it. 🙂

I’m definitely in for the Round 3, but maybe you can refresh the game a little by putting audio snippets instead of pictures from the show episodes? Around ten second of someone’s speech or dialogue would be sufficient (if there is no copyright infringement, of course). Start with something simple (like “carry on” speech from Hawkeye) and then expand the work from it. Does it sounds plausible?
I have considered that but it would be a lot more work for me, unfortunately, and I worry it would keep people from participating. It is easy to take a quick look at an image and make a guess; listening to a sound bite is a little more involved.
I guess I underestimated how much people enjoy the game. I will kick of Round III on Tuesday, September 9th. That will give me the next few weeks to get images together.
