Name That Episode, Round II Announced

When I started the Name That Episode game way back in April of 2009 I had absolutely no idea it would become such a hit. To be honest, I am not sure what I expected when I introduced it but I certainly did not think it would turn out to be so popular. So, I am officially announcing Name That Episode, Round II. It will start next Tuesday and be played mostly the same. To make things a little more interesting and/or challenging I am planning on mixing things up a little. Some will be the typical shots of Hawkeye, Radar, Frank and the rest of the gang. But I also plan to include shots of recurring characters, guest stars, background players and group shots. Hopefully, this will make the game more fun for regular players. Would it also be helpful to set a regular time to post the images — say, 3PM ET — or would that make it impossible for people who are at work or school and cannot get to a computer? Maybe I could split things up, post Tuesday’s entry at 3PM ET/12PM PT and Thursday’s at 6PM ET/3PM PT? Thoughts?

  1. I think the random timing works!! That way everyone gets a crack at getting the episode right and not just the person who logs in at the exact time of posting.

  2. I can’t vouch for anybody as far the time restrains are concerned, but I think having more images of recurring and minor characters and guest stars would present more of a challenge, I like that idea.

  3. I agree with both Chai and BDOR – the random timings worked better, plus I like the idea of recurring characters (I love the episodes with Flagg and Dr Freedman!)….Looking forward to Round II!

  4. Awesome to hear the great news, R.J. I agree with Chai, the random timing gives everybody the chance to have a crack at it, also the recurring characters and group images is a swell idea. Looking forward to it!

  6. I agree. …..random works……having it at the same time also makes it harder for those who can’t at that time and also makes it easier for you…….I think you should use an episode more than once….say do 300 rounds winner is the one with the most wins out of 300…

    Btw….I know I didn’t …but who won? Who had the most wins? Big Daddy , Chai…who????I never counted myself….

    1. I have not counted either, truth be told. I will do that this weekend unless someone else wants to take a crack at it.

  7. Great job RJ on making a fun and more often than not a tough and puzzling game. Congrats to everyone, there’s been several times we all guessed some real tough images, and those times when we all got stumped. 🙂

    I agree also, the random timing makes it interesting. It would be unfair to set an exact time to post images, whatever time works for RJ.

    I’m very glad the game is continuing, it makes Tuesdays and Thursdays into days worth looking foward to. With all the images that we couldn’t guess and some of the ones I think of as I watch M*A*S*H, I think the game could probably last several more rounds.

    1. For those of you who asked, here are the winners, from the lowest (1) to the greatest (40) – there were some that NO ONE got, so before you start adding up, remember that! LOL – enjoy your championship CHAI, and your second place BDOR – it is time for the rest of us to step up to the plate!!!! GAME ON! ha ha ha ha

      2. Ok, I will revisit tomorrow – looks like Eye of the Hawk and 5 oclock charlie got all mixed up. But, Chai is still the winner at 40. Guess I posted too soon 🙂 What else is new?

  11. As Pinkpagoda says, game on! Just one more thought: There are people over here in Europe who loves M*A*S*H and wants to play, so please try not to place “random timing” always in the late night/early morning times for us abroad. We would like to sleep from time to time!
