Everybody talks about Frank’s last line on the show being as he watches Margaret and Donald’s chopper fly away, and sadly saying “Bye, Margaret”… BUT, there’s actually a deleted ending on DVD that contests that, that takes place in the Swamp…
FRANK: I’m fine, you guys don’t have to sit up with me like I’m a baby or anything.
POTTER: You’re entitled to a little sympathy, under the circumstances.
B.J.: After all, you just lost a very close friend.
FRANK: Well, I don’t feel bad, I’m really actually very happy for Margaret.
HAWKEYE: That’s good Frank, that’s very healthy.
FRANK: I just wish she’d-a been a little more cautious… I mean, I hate to see a girl, only been in the army for fifteen years, run off and marry the second real man she ever met.
*Awkward pause, followed by Hawkeye, B.J., and Potter noticing it’s after 10:00, and talking about what Margaret and Donald would possibly be doing now, since they would’ve finished dinner; Frank then grabs his towel and heads out the door*
POTTER: Where are you goin’?
FRANK: I dunno… I just suddenly feel like taking a cold shower…
*Frank walks out, while the others agree it’s a good idea, and all walk out of the Swamp as well*
