On the subject of “Sticky Wicket”, I think that garbage Hogan’s Heroes had an episode with that same title… but then again, those two shows had a lot of hidden similarities, besides Radar and Kinchloe wearing the same hat. 😛
“Stickey Wicket” is one of the more serious episodes of season 1. One of my favorites! Never paid close attention to Hogan’s Heroes, so I will take your word for it!!

What exactly does “Sticky Wicket” mean anyway? I assume it’s something military-related, as I’ve mentioned, I believe there was also an episode of Hogan’s Heroes with the same name.
It is actually a cricket term referring to muddy ground between the wickets (or goal posts, if my understanding is correct) that more generally means a tough or difficult situation or set of circumstances. See World Wide Words and The Phrase Finder.
