Help Identify This Scene

Mrs. Frank Burns is trying to identify the following scene and I’ve got to admit I’m stumped:

I remember seeing the following scene a long time ago and haven’t seen it since then.

From memory: Hawkeye and BJ (?) were sitting outside, inches away from a green tent, There was table made from a crate between them. It was hot; I think BJ had on his straw hat. A few minutes later, Radar came over to talk to them. Also, I believe this scene occurred towards the beginning of the episode.

I highly doubt this was from the beginning of ”Bug Out’, since Hawk and Beej are sitting out in the open.

From my description, the one thing that I am positive on is that green tent wall shot at an angle from the camera.

I hope you can help!

December 1st, 2009 Update: Vince and Big Daddy O’Reilly have chimed in to identify the episode as “The Merchant of Korea.” A big thank you to both of them.

  1. That’s what I was going to say… like during the opening, Hawkeye and B.J. knocked down the canvas of one of the walls of the Swamp, turning it into a veranda, where they were trying a new “recipe” for gin; Radar comes into to deliver a telegram that a landlord is ready to sell Peg the acre of land they were going to buy to build their dream home back in Simpson Beach, outside of San Francisco.

  2. Yes! It was ‘The Merchant of Korea’. I immediately had to watch it last night. The last time I saw it was probably five years ago. I’m so happy that I finally asked. It was really bugging me. And hey, my recollection wasn’t totally off! Okay, so Beej wasn’t wearing his straw hat and the tent wall was pulled up, but at least it was hot and Radar did come over.

I didn’t even think of it to be ‘TMOK’. Actually, I did remember an episode where Charles whistles during poker, but I thought it was a ‘cold’ episode, not a ‘hot’ one. I think I was confusing it the beginning of ‘Out of Gas’ where everyone is playing poker while freezing.

Thank you, RJ, Vince, and BDOR!!! 🙂
