Larry Gelbart, the man most responsible for bringing M*A*S*H to the small screen, won his second Humanitas Prize — the honorary Kieser Award — for his lifelong career in screenwriting, according to Yahoo! News.
In 1976, Gelbart won his first Humanitas Prize for his work specifically with M*A*S*H.
From a press release announcing the winners:
This year we honor Larry Gelbart. Larry is the real thing. His show M*A*S*H told the truth about war. He was an inspiration when he wrote M*A*S*H and he is an inspiration today.
