Asian American actor Mako, who appeared in four episodes of M*A*S*H between 1974 and 1980, has died at 72 according to The Los Angeles Times. Mako earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in The Sand Pebbles and was one of the founders of the first Asian American theater company in the United States of America.

The four episodes of M*A*S*H Mako appeared in were “Rainbow Bridge” (Season 3), “Hawkeye Get Your Gun” (Season 5), “Guerrilla My Dreams” (Season 8), and “The Best of Enemies” (Season 9).
