Some time ago Amazon placed the following message on the Season Five DVD release, causing many fans to wonder what was going on:
Availability: NOT YET RELEASED: The studio is currently not producing this title on DVD, but to be notified when it is available, enter your e-mail address at right. You’ll also be voting for this release; we’ll let the studio know how many customers are waiting for this title.
This does not mean Season Five is not going to be released. The very same thing happened with the Season Five of Buffy and the complete series of Firefly. TVShowsOnDVD.com posted the following, in response to e-mails about Buffy and Firefly:
Amazon.com seems to be jumping the gun on Fox product these days, and they’ve done it again with this release. They post something, take a bunch of orders, then Fox probably calls them and they pull the orders and cause mass confusion. Way to go Amazon! The fact that Amazon has pulled the product off their website means nothing, and we expect the set to be released when it’s supposed to be released.
No mention of M*A*S*H, but Buffy, Firefly, and M*A*S*H are being released by 20th Century Fox and all three have the same messages at Amazon.
