M*A*S*H, Finest Kind Returns May 17th

M*A*S*H, Finest Kind will return from hiatus on May 17th with a new domain name, one that fits much better than “finest-kind.net.” There will be an announcement about the name in a few weeks and beginning May 17th this domain name will redirect to the new name. I have also been working on some modifications to the layout of the site and may restructure some of the content. Additionally, I intend to move away from the blog format and focus instead on articles and features. Rest assured, however, that the Name That Episode game will continue.

If anyone has suggestions or ideas, please leave them in the comments.

  1. Wow… I came here to look something up for a friend, and was surprised to see this!

Glad to hear the site’s coming back, but it’s going to take a while to get used to a new name and such, lol.

I’m also glad to hear that the site’s layout will be worked on… to be honest, looking at previous incarnations on the “About This Site” page, I felt the current layout was a little too simplistic and such… but then again, that could very well be just me. *Shrug*

One thing I think might interesting to do RJ: a forum for this site. I know there’s a couple of others already in existence (Best Care Anywhere, and Mashtalk’s Bulletin Board), but I think if Finest Kind had one, it’d kind of bring both sides together in one place. Just a thought.

  2. Wow is right, BDOR – I did a bit of a double-take when I saw this posting. This is fantastic news and I cannot wait to see the new format and to update my bookmark! 🙂 So good to hear that the end of the hiatus is near and that RJ is coming back!

  3. Indeed, this is fantastic news!!! Well done, RJ, it’s so good hearing from you. I’ve never seen anyone so dedicated to all that it is M.A.S.H. so you deserved more than anyone this break. Can’t wait to see the new format !!!

  4. Very awesome news!
Welcome back RJ and I hope all is well.

I can’t wait to see whats in store for all us MASH fans.

  5. YES!!!!! Welcome back RJ! This Is great news….perhaps we could start talking of a reunion…I wonder where everyone is from….I’m from Hempstead Texas myself…..

  6. Wow, that would be pretty hard to have a “BJ” type of reunion……perhaps 1 day though….

  7. I’m originally from Harrisburg, PA but now live in Columbus, OH…..Buckeye country – ugh! 🙂

  8. Well, I’m from K-town: Knoxville, TN.

You know Klinger’s colorful descriptions of Toledo? “My mother was mugged bringing me home from the hospital”? “Half my mail comes from Death Row”? “I’ve got a lot of high friends in low places”? Well, that’s pretty much what Knoxville is like anymore. Matter of fact, unfortunately, TN is now the meth capital of the country. 😐

  9. I’m glad you are bringing it back. Would love to see a wiki for actors, characters, episodes. More organization around series, spinoffs, etc. A bulletin board would be great. This is an amazing site and I’m glad you are not abandoning it. It is your labor of love, but it has been a pleasure to read it.

  10. Great news! Looking forward to the return. (Also impressed by your Loretta Swit response!).

  11. So glad the site is coming back!!! Looking forward to the new format, and to the name that episode returning!! Love the forum idea, if it is organized and not just random and hard to follow (you know what I mean, lol) – Missed you all, and very excited about the Loretta post!

  12. I’ve been watching all my M*A*S*H episodes in anticipation for Name that Episode.

  13. Every now and then I see another re-run of M*A*S*H* and there are still at least ten of these episodes that always bring me to tears. The man killed on Christmas and that everyone tries to keep alive until midnight with that and its other stories all combine to show humanity at its best dealing with humanity at its worst. To all those who helped create this masterpiece of comedy and human emotion, THANK YOU for all your talent and humanity! All these episodes are one of the greatest legacies anyone could leave! BRAVO!
