Actor Donald Sutherland, who starred as Hawkeye Pierce in the 1970 film M*A*S*H, died today at the age of 88. His long acting career started in the early 1960s and continued until last year. Some of his other notable films include Klute, Don’t Look Now, Ordinary People, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Animal House, Backdraft, and The Hunger Games (plus its sequels).

On the small screen, Sutherland earned an Emmy Award for his role in the 1995 HBO made-for-TV movie Citizen X. He had regular roles in several TV shows, including Commander in Chief (2005-2006), Dirty Sexy Money (2007-2009), Crossing Lines (2013-2015), and Trust (2018). His last acting job was a recurring role on Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
