Brian Dennehy (1938-2020)

Actor Brian Dennehy, who had a small role in the Season 5 episode “Souvenirs,” died yesterday (April 15) at the age of 81. He played an M.P. who interrogates Frank about a priceless 800-year-old vase. The episode aired in 1977, the same year Dennehy started his acting career.

He went on to appear in movies like First Blood, Cocoon, F/X, Tommy Boy, and Romeo + Juliet. He also had regular roles in TV shows Star of the Family, Birdland, The Fighting Fitzgeralds. Dennehy earned two Tony Awards for his work on the stage.

  1. Who did he play in First Blood? Was he the sheriff of that town where the movie took place? I also thought he played football.

      1. In an article about his death, I read that, yes, he did play football in college.
