On Sunday, Alan Alda tweeted a short video taken during the recording session for his upcoming “Clear+Vivid With Alan Alda” podcast featuring a M*A*S*H cast reunion:
Somebody grabbed a video while we were doing the M*A*S*H podcast for Clear+Vivid. What a happy time to be together again with @Loretta_Swit Mike Farrell, Gary Burghoff and Jamie Farr. An awful lot of laughing. pic.twitter.com/Y9sGs1FYX3

(If you can’t see the video, here‘s a direct link to the tweet.)
In the video, Mike Farrell and Jamie Farr can be seen (at different times) on a computer screen, wearing headphones and speaking into microphones. There’s also what appears to be a still shot of Alan Alda in a recording studio.
The podcast, which also features Loretta Swit and Gary Burghoff, was recorded on January 9th. It will be released on February 5th.
Man, don’t know why but just that short clip made me so sad. I guess it’s because back when M*A*S*H was filming, all of these guys were together all the time, daily, and here it is not a one of them can get together with the other in person.
I get that they’re all aging now, and have lives/family elsewhere, but it’s just so sad to me that they aren’t all together.
Still super excited for the podcast though. Can’t wait.
It is sad but Mike was at the SAG awards last week when Alan got his Lifetime achievement award. They sat next to each other. That gave me all kinds of best friend warm fuzzies.
