Robert Altman, the man who directed the 1970 feature film MASH has passed away at 81, according to CNN.com.
Altman was nominated five times for the Best Director Academy Award (including a nomination for MASH). His most recent film was A Prairie Home Companion which was released earlier this year.
According to the article, Altman was not a fan of the long-running television series his hit film spawned.
