Alan Alda said this was one of his favorite episodes, I have to agree, this was a really great Sidney Freedman episode, and we can see that sometimes, even shrinks could use a little therapy themselves, and it's interesting to see how Sidney tries to cure himself of his own case of the blues by emersing himself in the zany antics at the 4077th. It also makes for a great cold snap episode at that.
Believe it or not, this is actually one episode where I'm glad they cut a scene from syndication: the scene where Klinger fakes amnesia and awakes to speak only in Arabic, utilizing the age-old subtitle gag... a gag that somehow seems below M*A*S*H; it works well for a silly and outlandish show like GREEN ACRES, but M*A*S*H is too sophisticated for it.
