The veteran actor who appeared in M*A*S*H as chopper pilot Smilin' Jack has died at his home in Maine on May 27, 2021. The New York Times states his cause of death was ‘complications from pneumonia’. He also suffered an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease before his death.

I always liked this episode and Mr. Hogan's portrayal of Smilin' Jack.
