This episode possibly got the worst treatment in syndication ever, you know why? Because the entire B-story with Klinger and his invisible camel is completely omitted from reruns. Each and every scene with Klinger and Habibi is nowhere to be seen on TV Land or Hallmark Channel... and it was his funniest scheme ever!

Other than that, the A-story with Leo Bardinaro is a good one, it's hard to believe that Bardinaro is the same person who played Farmer Hoggett in BABE; I haven't seen James Cromwell in any other roles, but I'm going to assume he's a versatile actor if he can play a wisecracking practical joker, and a quiet stone-faced farmer.

Very good season 6 effort that features a young James Cromwell (anyone think he could easily have played BJ?) as BJ's practical joking pal, and a hilarious subplot with Klinger & an imaginary camel.

The one negative is Margaret, who has entered her "shrieking sharpie" phase constantly browbeating Potter to go to Tokyo to see Donald. it felt un-nessecary.

It's also a bit curious that Charles is neither seen, nor mentioned in the entire episode, which makes you wonder if this is a holdover script from season 5

I'm pretty sure that D.O.S had a prior commitment at the time of filming. It was early on, shortly after he joined. I suspect he was working on another project at the time. If you look at his IMDB page, you'll see that he had 6 others shows he was a guest on in 1977, including 2 episodes of Mary Tyler Moore in that year. That's quite a bit of prior commitment. I'm sure that one of these appearances was previously scheduled before he signed as Charles Emerson Winchester.

As far as the story is concerned, some fans have theorized that Charles was involved in some kind of off-camera protest of sorts trying to nullify his permanent transfer to the 4077th since, production-wise, this episode was filmed right after "Fade Out, Fade In."
