HBO Alan Alda Documentary

Talk about all things M*A*S*H -- the novel, the film, the television series, even the play. Not to mention the spin-offs, merchandise, cast, crew and anything else you can think of to talk about.

HBO Alan Alda Documentary

Post by Big Daddy O'Reilly »

If anyone here has Comcast - or xfinity, or whatever they wanna call themselves - HBO On Demand has a really nice half-hour documentary of Alan Alda hosting an acting workshop for six young aspiring actors, teaching them skills in improvisation (not like improv comedy, but how to act in a scene or situation where you rely on playing off of each other's emotions without necessarily reading lines off a script).

I just watched it yesterday, and it's a really great documentary: Alan seems like a really great mentor, and it's so refreshing to see young people who not only recognize his work, but have a passion and a drive to do something creative and artistic with their lives. I definitely recommend giving this a watch; I'm no actor myself, but even I took a few pointers away from this special.

I still have HBO for another few months thanks to a promotion. I'll have to check this out. Thanks for the heads-up.
