Possible Spammers

Post by Big Daddy O'Reilly »

I'm pretty sure that there are some spambots on this forum, specifically...

Roselina - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=93
Jacobgoblin - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=95
ammyspears - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=97

I mean the URLs they're using for their homepages and in their signatures are pretty fishy; I don't believe they're legit members, I'm thinking they're spambots.

Jacobgoblin's is red flagged on web of trust (which, by the way, I highly recommend).

Heh, yeah, RJ might want to strengthen registration to the forum with CAPTCHAs and such... it seems like these spammers are getting in way too easy.

I have deleted the spammers and added a CAPTCHA to hopefully keep out any more.

Clearly another spammer, just look at the posts this thing has made, full of fishy-looking links for shows on DVD and such.

I just went through and cleared out another bunch of spam topics and posts. To be honest, I am not sure what else I can do to stop spammers, although it does look like the last batch of posts were made in late November, so maybe thing have tapered off for some reason.
