Re: Funky Background Music?

I checked the music cue sheet for "The Trial of Henry Blake." The piece of music you're asking about is called "Did You See That" and was written by regular M*A*S*H composer Benny Golson and published by Fox Fanfare Music, Inc.

Re: Everett Greenbaum talks M*A*S*H

There are a ton of Television Academy Foundation interviews with cast and crew from M*A*S*H. I wish I had the time to sit down and watch them all.

Re: 2018 DVD set

According to this review at Amazon, yes: One nice feature is the ability to disable the laugh track that was originally broadcast with the series on TV. I actually prefer to watch the episodes this way. But to do this is very awkward. Turning the Laugh Track On/Off is a Global setting that applies t...

Re: Running nurses

I sometimes feel the same way when I watch a TV show from the 1950s/1960s/1970s and realize how much time has passed.

Re: Funky Background Music?

I don't know the answer off the top of my head but I'll try to take a look at the music cue sheet for "The Trial of Henry Blake" (the episode with Klinger hang gliding) this weekend and see what it says.

Re: AfterMASH

I'm going to be reviewing episodes of AfterMASH starting in September, timed to coincide with the show's 35th anniversary. My plan is to start watching and reviewing next month. I may post some random thoughts and comments here as I go through the episodes.

Second surgical shift?

I watched "Private Charles Lamb" the other day. There's a PA announcement asking both surgical shifts to report to the OR. Are there other references to a second surgical shift in other episodes? I can't recall any off the top of my head.

M*A*S*H in HD (and Widescreen)

I thought I'd start a topic here to discuss M*A*S*H in HD and widescreen on Hulu . I wrote about this at my blog a few weeks ago . I don't subcribe to Hulu, so I haven't seen any of the newly remastered episodes. As I've said elsewhere, I'm happy about the new HD transfers. I don't like the episodes...

Re: Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

Comcast has given up on acquiring Fox, which means Disney will own M*A*S*H unless the proposed sale is stopped due to antitrust or other regulatory action.

Re: Introductions

Welcome to the forums. There isn't as much activity here as I'd like, partly because I don't have much free time to post as often as I should, but occasionally we have some interesting conversations.

I've never seen anything like that before. I imagine there aren't very many left, especially in unused condition. I hope it finds a good home.

Re: Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

Will the episodes be uncut on streaming? If I recall correctly, the episodes were uncut when they aired on Netflix, so presumably wherever they end up next (Hulu, Disney's unnamed streaming service) the episodes will also be uncut. When M*A*S*H was on Netflix, however, the hour-long episodes were a...

Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

The saga of Disney and 21st Century Fox, and the ownership of M*A*S*H and AfterMASH (plus unsold pilot "W*A*L*T*E*R") entered a new phase this week when Disney pushed its bid to $71.3 billion , topping Comcast's $65 billion bid. See this Variety article for details. I wrote about Disney's ...

How many streaming services do you subscribe to?

In this brave new media world of streaming content we live in, it seems like every company has or plans to launch their own streaming service. I subscribe to two: Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Before Hulu got rid of their free (ad-supported) option, I watched a lot of network TV shows through Hulu.

Re: AfterMASH

I'd buy AfterMASH on DVD. Most of the episodes on YouTube are in rough shape. Even worse, unless another copy has surfaced, one episode is only available in a foreign language!
