Re: Who do you like more.....

Potter was a near-perfect CO... while that would have made him better to work under, it was also unrealistic. There are a whole lot more administrators, and people in general who are kind of muddling through trying to do the right things, but with lots of character flaws -- drinking, womanizing, laz...

Re: (08x03) 176 - Guerilla My Dreams

Were they that crowded with patients during that episode? Compared with, say, holding over a baker so he could bake a cake for Kentucky Derby Day, keeping a patient there to stall her torture and killing is at least a noble motive. Even if it was misguided.

Re: (07x25) 172 - Ain't Love Grand

I see your point, but those were also her very first words to Klinger. And she did qualify it "I know this is sudden..." I don't think it was reasonable for Klinger to interpret that as "Let's get married and start having kids." It still hurts, but there was a lot of wishful thin...

Re: (08x03) 176 - Guerilla My Dreams

I figure MASH does that level of rehab every time they have a patient whose execution they want to stall. Yeah, not a particularly imaginative episode. Did the writers think they owed the Army one after letting Hawkeye and company pull the wool over their eyes in umpteen other episodes? I bet Colone...

Yes, I think they were having sex... They couldn't be completely candid on television back then, hints were all you were going to get. Charles is just demonstrating the amazing human ability to delude himself when he said she was from an aristocratic family. I'm sure plenty of aristocratic families ...

Re: (05x25) 122 - Margaret's Marriage

There were hints all the way back to Season 2 that Margaret was unhappy with her relationship with Frank. "Hot Lips and Empty Arms" about a friend of Margaret's getting married, while Margaret only has an affair with a man who clearly has no intention of divorcing his wife.

Re: So rate the main characters

This is clearly an impossible mission, but I respect you for trying! MASH had a wealth of great characters and actors and that's what makes it such a great show. I couldn't do more than put a few in the top set and a few in the "also ran" category. Yes, Mulcahy was played well but underuse...

Re: M*A*S*H timeline

I don't think the time for "Lil" can be right. When Margaret said it's independence day, her divorce was becoming final. But during the war, she had fallen in love, been engaged, married, tried to work out their problems, filed for divorce, waited for their court date, and been granted it....

Re: Bath Robes

Margaret was wearing a yellow bathrobe in Hot Lips and Empty Arms. Was she borrowing Trapper's, when he and Hawkeye took her to the shower to sober her up? She kept it on for a while after they left the shower, which made me think it was Margaret's. Borrowing bathrobes would be a sign of greater int...

I believe that's Lynette Mettey, who I remember best in The General Flipped at Dawn, as a nurse Hawkeye said he respected, only not enough for her to get her own name in the episode...

Re: (10x10) 228 - Twas the Day After Christmas

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but Boxing Day trading places really is a British tradition, not just putting away Christmas decorations. In many places of business, Boxing Day is when annual presents to the staff are given -- bottle of booze, annual bonus, etc. I think the caps like Radar wore ...

Re: Least Favorite Episodes

Least favorites to me, For Want of a Boot and The Great Longjohn Flap. Lots of dealmaking that falls apart, not much of any redeeming features. I am amazed that many people dislike seeing Charles. Frank, in my opinion, was an unbelievable butt of every joke, utterly incompetent at everything with no...

Re: (07x24) 171 - A Night at Rosie's

It came out very well, then, in my opinion. One of my favorite episodes. How's they get an actor with the right chemistry to play Scully at the last minute and no rehearsal time?
