Re: M*A*S*H in HD (and Widescreen)

The only time I've ever experienced seeing additional footage added to the sides of something in a widescreen 16:9 format are Muppet movies . . . other than that, my experiences is that 16:9 crops the top and bottom of the frame, so you end up losing the top of someone's head (especially jarring for...

Another Fire

The Malibu Creek Park has gone up in flames due to the ever-raging wildfires that have been reducing California to ashes, and that includes the spot where M*A*S*H used to be filmed.

Re: Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

Slightly off-topic, but I would also like to add that not only would Disney end up owning my favorite show, but my two favorite comedy movies as well - and that's all the more cringeworthy to think about it.

Re: Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

The thing of it is though, M*A*S*H was shot on film, not videotape. Videotape was made specifically for the intention of being broadcasted on the 480 resolution as you say, film wasn't. This is why when you up-convert videotape to HD, while it may look good, you get a lot of interlacing (those annoy...

The idea of Disney owning M*A*S*H is cringeworthy to think about.

Re: Things That I've Noticed In MASH

In regards to #2 and #3, it was felt that one of the problems with the first season was there were far too many minor characters to write for, which is why they dropped all of them, except for Klinger since he was such a hit, and Father Mulcahy since he proved to be a vital part of the cast.

ROLL OUT!

I could have sworn I started a thread about this years ago, I guess not. But anyway, did you know what M*A*S*H actually had a sister show that only lasted half a season in 1973? When M*A*S*H ended up becoming a hit for the network, CBS turned to Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds, asking them to create...

Either that, or her sister Brittany would rip me to shreds, since she don't let anybody mess with her sisters.

Jeanette Miller of the Chipettes. https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/loveinterest/images/d/d3/Jeanette_Miller_2.png/revision/latest?cb=20151120224630 And since the politicians are saying that pedophilia is okay, after the dinner, I'd sneak off with her, and after I get finished doing unspeakable t...

At least Charles, because I could eat him since he's plump and juicy; Klinger would be too tough and stringy (and certainly too hairy).

Wonder if anyone would understand the reference.

Re: Does the present day tensions with North Korea effect your enjoyment of watching M.A.S.H nowadays?

To be fair, the Korean War has never really officially ended, it's just sort of been put on hold as it war all these years: a truce was signed, but never a peace treaty, so the war could start up again at any given moment, as you say. The tensions never really went away, and as we've seen over the y...

Twentieth Century Fox Looking to Sell Out?

I don't know if anybody else has heard lately, but there were talks for a while of Twentieth Century Fox selling out to Disney, but those talks died down almost as soon as they cropped up. That being said, it appears that Fox is still interesting in selling out to another company, which would mean t...

Re: (08x23) 196 - War Co-Respondant

Something else that's struck me about this episode is the awfully under-developed subplot regarding the patient Scotty: did he have feelings for Aggie too? It's implied that he does - he gives B.J. the third degree about how there's gossip going on in the hospital about the two of them, but then tel...
