I don't know a lot about master prints/transferring/digital restoration etc.. However, there was a soap opera on ABC that was originally taped in color, but the color episodes were not handled properly and lost, the only copies were black and white back ups that were in terrible condition. Trapper and Hawkeye got their goodbye in this episode and both actors shined in it. Hawk should have considered it the goodbye he needed instead of going on about not getting one when Trapper actually went home for real. I agree that Wayne and Alan had good chemistry. Alan and Mike didn't really connect until Season 5 and it progressed very well through the years.

B.J.- he was a better friend to Hawkeye. The relationship dynamic was more significant between the two men. Trapper was just a buddy to Hawk while B.J. was a best friend. I watched "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" several years ago and its quite different than the sitcom "Alice". The film is a drama that takes a strong look at life for a widowed mother trying to make ends meet.
