Re: Jeep Caps

Gee, since Photobucket has screwed everybody over, I'm going to have to edit the links to those pics so the visual aspect of this thread can be corrected. But anyway, I had to bump this thread, because while I was at a store yesterday, I happened to see another fellah walking around wearing a jeep c...

Re: (02x22) 046 - George

I was watching this episode last night, and . . . *sigh* For many years, people havebeen complained about how dated this episode is and hasn't stood the test of time very well with its seemingly clumsy execution in tackling a subject like homosexuality in the military - and given how this show is fr...

Re: M*A*S*H YouTube finds

I compiled an updated compilation of commercials featuring the castmembers - including those Connecticutt Doppler 3000 commercials you posted, RJ:

Re: Death of Henry Blake

Trapper was also leaving the show, but the show established Henry's wife and kids more clearly, showing them in a home movie once etc. So if you want to show the effects of the war, Henry's death is a more forceful way to do it. Actually, it's because McLean Stevenson had already informed the produ...

Re: M*A*S*H Parody

I once found a parody on YouTube that I can't find anymore that was M*A*S*H in pre-historic times, and the characters were all operating in caves. The only specifics I remember is Potter (who was played by SEINFELD co-creator Larry David) was the only character whose name wasn't Romanized (i.e., "Ra...

Re: MASH: Documentary

There's also the BIOGRAPHY episode "M*A*S*H: Television's Serious Sitcom," which was included as a special feature on the Martinis and Medicine DVD set (as well as the Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen DVD release).

Re: Death of Henry Blake

Because McLean Stevenson was a pest and nusance on the set always complaining about the horrible working conditions and complaining about having to play second fiddle to Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers, so when he announced he was leaving the show, they chose to kill Henry so that way they could be rid o...

Re: Highest quality video source

I've heard it said that episodes on Netflix aren't quite up to the same level as on DVD, but I haven't watched the show on Netflix to confirm that. DVD is probably your best bet though, however it varies season to season. M*A*S*H is said to have, "Suffered from its own popularity," and the constant ...

Re: New Logo?

Great.

I hope the gang likes this logo better than the previous one, since it proudly features each of the major castmembers of the show.

Re: M*A*S*H YouTube finds

I forgot we had this thread, but here's a gem I found last year: Gary Burghoff in a skit with Dean Martin as a pair of hobos, but just take a look at what Gary's wearin' ;)

I can't find your email address to send the new logo to you as an attachment, so I'll just hotlink it in this thread:

Hopefully people will like it better than the previous one.

New Logo?

I see the old logo I designed has been removed (I know some here didn't particularly care for it); would you like me to whip up a new one for you, RJ?

Re: M*A*S*H on AMC

I checked it out, and here's what I can confirm about M*A*S*H on SundanceTV On Demand: they're "HD" in that they're pillarboxed in a widescreen format (so, in other words, black bars on the top, bottom, and sides of the picture), but the picture quality is otherwise very, very poor. Also, they're th...

M*A*S*H on AMC

AMC has added M*A*S*H to their lineup, and are presently (as of this post) airing a mini-marathon. Looks like M*A*S*H is making its way back to the cable rerun landscape - first Sundance, now AMC.
