Ken Levine Ends His Blog After 16 Years

TV writer, playwright, and novelist Ken Levine, known for not only writing for M*A*S*H along with his partner David Isaacs, but also CHEERS, FRASIER, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, and others, has decided to end his blog BY KEN LEVINE after nearly 16 years of writing for it. I've been following Ken's blog...

Re: Loretta Swit, Jamie Farr, and Jeff Maxwell Will Be in My Town for a Convention

Well, the entire experience turned out to be a rather disappointing one, I have to say. Just days before the con, Jeff Maxwell had canceled because of an unspecified health emergecy - not sure what that's about, but hopefully he is and will be okay. Then the day of, Loretta Swit was a no-show, as ev...

Re: M*A*S*H in HD (and Widescreen)

Here's a bad example of how and why a show like M*A*S*H should not be cropped in widescreen. . . . https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/294981295_3321767494720706_2303787050330800269_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5cd70e&_nc_ohc=NtpugOpKGO4AX_C7Kjg&_nc_ht=scontent-at...

Re: Jeep Caps

I know this thread is really old and all, but I'm bumping it because I think I may have discovered the absolute perfect reproduction jeep cap that is currently out there. . . . https://www.mash-japan.co.jp/oversea/cgi-bin/prd-eng.cgi?itemno=09-20-1030 This cap is manufactured and sold by a Japanese ...

Loretta Swit, Jamie Farr, and Jeff Maxwell Will Be in My Town for a Convention

Originally, Loretta and Jamie were scheduled to be in my town for a local ComicCon back in 2020, but unfortunately, the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic put the kibosh on that. However, now they along with Jeff Maxwell are scheduled for this year's convention later this summer in honor of M*A*S*H...

Re: How do you split MASH eras?

I think we already have a thread about this, but truth be told, I'm too lazy to go browsing for it right now. Interestingly, the producers of M*A*S*H feel rather similarly to the way you do; according to them, they feel Seasons 1-4 are "the same", Season 5 stands alone, and Seasons 6-11 ar...

Re: Radar's voice changed

That's because for all those years, Gary Burghoff was actually pitching his own voice a little higher to give Radar a more youthful sound when he spoke. By the time he was brought back for Radar's two-parter, he was so burned out of playing Radar, that he didn't even want to bother with changing his...

Re: TOP M*A*S*H FACEBOOK GROUPS

#1 on your list was ruined by one specific member who was very much like Frank Burns: all he ever did was whine and moan, and would lash out at and attack any and everybody who posted something he didn't personally like, as if everything that was posted to or shared with that group had to be persona...

Re: (06x04) 126 - Last Laugh

As far as the story is concerned, some fans have theorized that Charles was involved in some kind of off-camera protest of sorts trying to nullify his permanent transfer to the 4077th since, production-wise, this episode was filmed right after "Fade Out, Fade In."

Re: Help figuring out an episode

What song are you talking about though? Off the top of my head, the one that's coming to my mind is where Radar is singing a lullabye to the little Korean girl, which would be "The Kids" from Season 4. There's also "Movie Tonight" from Season 5, where everyone has a sing-along in...

He actually said, "Uh-oh, Andy," to Radar. He actually calls Radar "Andy" a few times throughout the series . . . this is before my time, so I don't quite know the details, but this is supposedly a refence to a youthful Mickey Rooney character named Andy, whom I guess was popular...

Re: (01x03) 003 - Requiem for a Lightweight

Makes sense, when you consider a lot of the production crew from HOGAN'S HEROES transitioned to M*A*S*H in the beginning, including writer Laurence Marks, who did actually recycle some Hogan dialogue for Hawkeye. One specific example I can give you is from the HH episode "One Army at a Time,&qu...

Here's yet another one I just thought to add to the list: https://hips.hearstapps.com/digitalspyuk.cdnds.net/14/02/movies-larry-d-mann_1.jpg?resize=480:* Larry D. Mann I saw this guy quite frequently on BEWITCHED in various different roles, including a police officer who arrested Darrin to trespassi...
