  1. Also a musician. Mickey Jones took over for Levon Helm of “The Band” when they were Bob Dylan’s backing group in 1966. There were yet to be called “The Band” at that point, but soon after. Obviously a temporary gig.

  2. If nobody recognizes him from these pictures, mentally add a medium brown-colored scraggly beard, and you’ll recognize him instantly. Among other things, he played Chris Tyler on “V The Final Battle” and the eventual weekly series, and was the guy standing at a men’s bathroom next to Jeff Bridges in the “Starman” movie.

Mickey was a REALLY personable guy with fans — absolutely one of the best. I got to meet him a couple of times at some celebrity golf tournaments. During one of those occasions, I watched a girl come up to him to get his autograph on the golf program. As he penned out his name on the program, he said to the girl: “Now, that’s only going to go up in value. ‘Cause it’s worth -nothing- right now!”

    1. Sorry …. I mixed up to characters’ names when I wrote that. Mickey Jones played Chris FARBER on “V”, partnered up with Michael Ironside’s character of Ham Tyler.
