Last month, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, visitors to MASH4077TV.com overwhelmingly voted “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” their favorite episode from Season 11. “Trick or Treatment” was a very distant second with “As Time Goes By” third.

A total of 168 votes were cast, up from the 149 cast in October and the highest number since July. All but one episode from Season 11 received at least one vote. Only “Foreign Affairs” didn’t get any votes. “Give and Take” received just one while “Friends and Enemies,” “Say No More,” and “Who Knew?” each received two votes. Here are the complete results:

  1. Goodbye, Farewell and Amen (47%, 79 Votes)
  2. Trick or Treatment (10%, 16 Votes)
  3. As Time Goes By (9%, 15 Votes)
  4. The Moon is Not Blue (7%, 11 Votes)
  5. The Joker is Wild (6%, 10 Votes)
  6. Bombshells (5%, 8 Votes)
  7. Hey, Look Me Over (4%, 7 Votes)
  8. U.N., the Night, and the Music (3%, 5 Votes)
  9. Settling Debts (2%, 4 Votes)
  10. Run for the Money (2%, 3 Votes)
  11. Strange Bedfellows (2%, 3 Votes)
  12. Who Knew? (1%, 2 Votes)
  13. Say No More (1%, 2 Votes)
  14. Friends and Enemies (1%, 2 Votes)
  15. Give and Take (1%, 1 Votes)
  16. Foreign Affairs (0%, 0 Votes)

Personally, I voted for “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” but really only because it’s the series finale. I’m not a huge fan of any of the episodes from Season 11. There are some I like but not that I love, although a few I’m sure I haven’t seen in years. I thought about voting for “As Time Goes By” but ultimately decided to go with “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen.”

  1. “Last month, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, visitors to MASH4077TV.com overwhelmingly voted “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” their favorite episode from Season 11.”

Nice opening sentence there, Arj. GFA was going to get the most votes, no contest.

This month’s poll is going to be a little trickier – already, “Adam’s Ribs,” “Welcome to Korea,” and “Dear Sigmund” are all vying for my vote. My prediction, however, is that either “5 O’Clock Charlie” or GFA will win: many fans seem to consider the former to be one of the most iconic and funniest episodes of the whole series, while of course the latter is such a mark on television history. “Tuttle” may come in third. Just my predictions.

  2. “Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen” is what I voted for. Maybe the best series finale ever. It had everything that made “M*A*S*H” an enduring series: Comedy,Drama, and even a few tears. I especially enjoyed Hawkeye’s emotional breakdown and the realization that war truly is hell.
BJ: I’ll see you back in the States. I promise. Just in case, I left you a note.
Hawkeye: (trying to yell over the chopper’s engine) What?
As the chopper rises, Hawkeye beams as he sees BJ’s “note”: a collection of rocks forming the word “Goodbye”.

  3. I voted for ‘The Joker is Wild.’ Apart from the delightful references to unseen pranks by Trapper, this episode felt like a throwback to the earlier seasons and evoked a sense of nostalgia. It’s pretty good with the end scene of Hawkeye’s pseudo striptease to cap off the episode.

  4. I agree, Seoul City Sue. I voted for “The Joker is Wild”, too for the same reason – it was a lot like the typical episodes of past seasons. In fact, I don’t think I was aware that it was from the very last season. I didn’t vote for GFA because that is one I do not like to watch much. I’m a basket case every time I watch it! 🙂 As for this month’s poll – out of all of them, it looks like I’m going with Season Nine, big time.
