Last month’s poll asked visitors whether they’d watch M*A*S*H via a streaming service like Netflix or Amazon Instant Video. Out of 111 votes cast a vast majority said yes they would. Here are the full results:
Yes (80%, 89 Votes)
Undecided (12%, 13 Votes)
No (8%, 9 Votes)
I’m completely in favor of the series being available for streaming. I think it could bring M*A*S*H to a whole new audience. I am undecided about whether I personally watch the series if it was available on Netflix (which I use quite a bit) only because usually when I’m watching an episode of M*A*S*H it’s because I’m reviewing it, looking for a quote or otherwise doing something that requires constant pausing, rewinding or fast forwarding. I find that much easier to do using a media player on my desktop than I do watching Netflix on my big screen TV.
Preview August’s Poll:
This month’s poll is about the Army Song from “Movie Tonight,” asking visitors which verse was their favorite. Don’t remember the song well enough to pick a favorite? Go watch “Movie Tonight” to fresh your memory.
Although I am a bit burned out on watching M*A*S*H right now because I’ve watched all the episodes multiple times over the past few months, I would like to see them come to Amazon Prime Instant Video. It would be a good opportunity for them to be cleaned up, and the convenience of Instant Video through the Playstation PS3 is hard to beat.
Anyone know why M*A*S*H is not already available on any/all of these streaming services? I find it quite puzzling. I would think that any TV series from 30-40 years ago would be glad for the revenue that such streaming could bring in. In addition younger viewers might have the chance to discover a series that existed before their birth.
I’m sure it has something to do with rights and/or licensing agreements.
I think it would be logical of having the TV series be on streaming services (Like Netflix) because the 1970 feature is already on Netflix and Amazon.
Pleaser put Mash on again!!!!
If I do not see some attention paid to renewing mash, I will definetly cancel Netflix by May 1.
