Today marks the 41st anniversary of M*A*S*H premiering on CBS. The very first episode began at 8PM Eastern on Sunday, September 17th, 1972. Last year, to commemorate the 40th anniversary, I put together a page linking to features and posts relating to the first episode — the original fall preview, reviews of the pilot episode, excerpts from the pilot script — which you can find here.
Let’s all put on our bathrobes and raise our martinis to 41 years of M*A*S*H.
I’m still baffled by how such an iconic and well-loved series had such little fanfare over it’s 40th anniversary last year… really, nobody even cared! That was just sad.
TV Land didn’t forget, and had a three day marathon in honor of this wonderful show.

They showed MASH all month long as well, but I do remember watching all of the specials last year, and I really enjoyed them all. This link has a little memorial to Harry Morgan too (who was woefully ignored during the “stars we have lost” part of the Acadamy Awards after his death.)
And let’s raise a very, very dry martini to you, RJ, for keeping the M*A*S*H spirit alive with this great site. Thank you for producing as much as you do. It is much appreciated.
Hear, hear! Agreed 100%!
I appreciate the kind words, folks.
