what do you think the highest quality video source is there?
would it be the DVD box set, or the Netflix episodes?
I am using the "Point of View" flyover footage frames to computer generate a 3D model, and thing are fuzzy. My approach worked, but higher definition would be more accurate.
Thanks
Ken

I honestly don't know. I don't recall the episodes looking noticeable better on Netflix than they do on DVD.

Re: Highest quality video source
I've heard it said that episodes on Netflix aren't quite up to the same level as on DVD, but I haven't watched the show on Netflix to confirm that.
DVD is probably your best bet though, however it varies season to season. M*A*S*H is said to have, "Suffered from its own popularity," and the constant printing and reprint of episodes has evidently taken a toll on the masters. Seasons 1-3 look decent enough on DVD, Season 4 is pretty poor (and rather dark), Season 5 is fair (though many episodes have an orange-ish look to them, like a sunset), Seasons 6-11 get better with each season.

I don't know a lot about master prints/transferring/digital restoration etc.. However, there was a soap opera on ABC that was originally taped in color, but the color episodes were not handled properly and lost, the only copies were black and white back ups that were in terrible condition. The back ups were transferred, cleaned up, then transferred again, cleaned up with the technology of the decade. The black and white episodes are now fully restored so if i recall all of this correctly then the same could be done with Mash episodes.
