Someone made a MASH set in their yard

Talk about all things M*A*S*H -- the novel, the film, the television series, even the play. Not to mention the spin-offs, merchandise, cast, crew and anything else you can think of to talk about.

I read he doesn't have it anymore, donated it to some museum or something. But it is amazing, I cant imagine how much time it took.

I honestly would have hated to be that guy... I admit, it's a dandy piece fo work, but unfortunately, I've moved, A LOT, so I'd hate to think of spending all that time erecting that in my backyard, then end up having to tear it all down because I'd be moving again.

I have always wanted to do this, or at least, have a "Swamp" to hang out in.

I've just purchased a few acres and I am looking to set up my own M*A*S*H set on my property to live in until I can get my home built on the property.

My problem is that I can't decide which lay out of the camp I want to use and what tents were actually used. I have read that The Swamp was a 16 x 16 GP frame tent although I don't know if this is in fact true.

Is there anyone here who can tell me who had what kind of tent?

Isn't that basically what EVERY M*A*S*Her wants? Their own Swamp to hang out in? *Thumbs up*

No need to apologize, I am sure there are lots of things I've written about at my site that are new to people. I was just making a connection. Please, feel free to post about them here.

Also, I think having my own personal outdoor M*A*S*H set would drive me crazy with worry about vandalism, theft, animals and weather damage. I would never be able to enjoy it. Now, an indoor Swamp replica? That could work as long as it had a few modern touches like electricity and no rats.

You have a very valid point there RJ... in this town, if I tried to build a replica of the 4077th in my backyard, let alone a Swamp, hoods would probably have it completely wrecked in a week.

That's actually a problem I'm having right now: I really want to get myself a Jeep Wrangler... for looks and appearance, I would much prefer a soft top, but because I have no garage or carport (and I live on the outskirts of a ghetto), I think having a soft top is just asking for trouble, so I'd probably have to get a hard top.

I has a Wrangler once..you can get an alarm for it that will go off if anyone comes within inches of it. I put this alarm on my jeep and also a convertible i had too. It works very well, almost like putting an umbrella over your car and if anyone touches it the alarm goes off.
