Here's a new one:
In "Your Hit Parade" (6x19), when Hawkeye, B.J., Klinger, and Zale try to get Sergeant Gribble out of Margaret's tent, if you look towards the top left corner of the picture (above Charles), you can clearly see the shadow of a boom microphone.

Here's another one. In Winchester's first season, first few episodes, you'll notice his surgical gown looks really familiar from episode to episode. Look for the finger-like marks on his chest.

A couple other notes from this episode...Chuck wrote:Just noticed this in “A Full Rich Day”...There's a scene where Trapper is working on a wounded soldier in the ER while the soldier's Lt looks on with a rifle. As the scene progresses and the camera starts to pan around, Trapper throws a blood soaked gauze at the gas passer (I assume not on purpose). The gauze hits the guy right in the face and he doesn't move.
The mysterious P.A. Announcer is named. During the ceremony for the "dead" Luxembourg soldier, Henry yells "Tony, hit it." and the Luxembourg anthem starts playing and the P.A. Announcer says, "the national anthem of Luxembourg...". The voice belongs to Todd Susman, who appeared in an episode of MASH as Baker, the big-nose Private from Operation Noselift.
The mud splatters on Lt. Smith change from scene to scene.

I always wondered where the kitchen was housed. With inside shots it was a built structure (like where the eggs were cooked in "A Holy Mess"), but in birds-eye views of the camp, you'd see the mess tent, but no solid structure was closeby.
In the episode "Letters," if I remember correctly, Father Mulcahy gets a letter asking if he ever saved a life, and he couldn't remember ever doing so, until he was reminded of that dog. I thought he'd recall the aide station soldier in the episode "Mulcahy's War," from a few seasons prior. It was a bit of a let down that it wasn't remembered, for it was such a good episode.

This gets me, too, such as in "The Party" episode where B.J. planned the stateside get-together. It was discussed right in front of secondary characters, but it seemed like only the primary characters' families seemed to be included in it. Nurse Kellye even reported to B.J. that all along the convoy his party was on, but was her family invited to participate in it? I doubt it.Chuck wrote:You know, another thing I've noticed is that there is a "group" of interest in the show. For example, when Potter does his painting for Mildred the subjects include Mulcahy, Haweye, BJ, Margaret, Charles and Klinger. This little group of favorites show up at various other points in the show too. When Potter shared the bottle of wine because his fellow soldiers had passed, it's the same group. Now, I know why the producers did it, but it seems so odd...like the rest of the camp doesn't matter. What about the other characters? Igor is pretty funny. Goldman shows up quite a bit. There's a few other folks who make regular appearances on the show. I know they're the "staff", but it seems odd.

Good point regarding the Letters episode, never thought of that before. I can buy Nurse Kellye's family not being invited as they live in Hawaii and would have a long way to travel, but I would have thought Zale's, Igor's, Bigelow's families would have been included.horsepill wrote:I always wondered where the kitchen was housed. Re: Another Have You Noticed
I was just reminded of another episode where the group is favored. In “The Foresight Saga” think about who Potter invites to hear Radar's letter....the usual bunch Hawkeye, BJ, Mulcahy, Winchester, Margart and Klinger. How many people knew Radar? How many lives did he touch while he performed his duties. I know it's only a show, but the more I think about it the more it bugs me.This gets me, too, such as in "The Party" episode where B.J. planned the stateside get-together. Re: Another Have You Noticed
This is a good one! In “Communication Breakdown” at about 8 minutes into the episode, there is a supergoof! I can't believe I didn't notice this ever before. In the scene where Charles is talking about his silly news papers, you can very clearly see a production guy standing in the background watching the scene take place. He's wearing a blue shirt with white pants and has a full beard (kind of looks like Grizzly Adams). I just can't believe I never noticed this. I tried to post a picture of it, but I can't figure out how to get pictures in with the posts.

Re: Another Have You Noticed
Heh, it's kind of like one time on Sanford and Son, when Fred "runs away from home" because he's scared of earthquakes (which I actually experienced for the first time this past weekend, BTW), and heads to Las Vegas: at one point, we have a trucking shot of him walking down the street, and the other cameraman who is about to get Fred's closeup ends up in the entire shot in his neon yellow production shirt, looking through the camera, and we even see the extension cord hooked up to the camera running out of frame. Hilarious.
Re: Another Have You Noticed
Hawkeye writes home to his dad in Vermont when we all know he lives in Maine. There's lots of times esp in the beginning episodes in the swamp where you can see the sides and roof of the tent because of the camera being angled to high or to the side. There has defiantly been times when col. potter has talked about having a son and other times he says he has a daughter but never says he has 2 kids. His daughters son comes to see him and confesses being unfaithful and the same person is also the character that tries to marry a Korean lady of the night to make money. Let's not forget the fact that Potter was in an episode before Henrey left and he was more crazy then Klinger.

Re: Another Have You Noticed
My favorite editing gaffe is still from "The Ringbanger." When Hawkeye and Trapper escort Leslie Nielsen's character back to his tent, you can clearly see his glass of milk on the table. Then when they tell him to drink it, you see Radar slip it in between the tent fold. Always get a kick out of that.
Also, it's no wonder Hawkeye has nightmares. First his mom is alive and he has a sister. But then we find out later he was an only child and his mom died when he was a kid. Same with Margaret. Dad left everything to mom but she blew it all, then suddenly dad is alive and they are divorcing.

I read today that the camp loudspeaker was sometimes done by Hy Averback, also a director for many of the MASH episodes. The mysterious P.A. Announcer is named.
