Trip to Malibu State Park

Talk about all things M*A*S*H -- the novel, the film, the television series, even the play. Not to mention the spin-offs, merchandise, cast, crew and anything else you can think of to talk about.

Trip to Malibu State Park

Post by Sunday »

I've been wanting to visit where they filmed MASH for several years now. My company is sending me to LA next week so I am going to venture to the site.

I honestly can't wait to get there!

Anyone been there? Is there anything special I should look for? Thanks

I've never been but from what I've read it is quite a hike, so bring some comfortable shoes or boots and some water.

Also, you might want to try to match up some shots from the opening credits. See this post: http://www.mash4077tv.com/2010/11/20/th ... n-and-now/

RJ, The hike was not too bad and I'm a 50 year old smoker. Call me goofy but it was one of the greatest experiences of my life!

Glad you enjoyed the hike. Out of curiosity, were there others around or was it pretty empty?

RJ, My daughter and I arrived at the Site a little before noon on a Saturday. There were about 25 people there. 15 hikers were resting/eating at the mess tent picnic tables and the rest were up and admiring the site.

We spent 2 hours there -I believe the average was a constant 25 visitors on-site for that time.
