The Laugh Track
I'm sort of touching on a topic RJ talked about recently, regarding the use of the laugh track on the show. Now, I know that most people out there denounce the laugh track, saying things like it's insulting to viewers' intelligence because it tells them when they're supposed to laugh and such, but t...

Re: Does Anyone Own Any Of The Mash DVD's?
I have Seasons One through Five in a rare, limited edition gift set, Seasons Six and Seven individually, and the GFA set that includes the extra features, because I was among those who complained to 20th Century Fox about how wrong it was for fans to have to repurchase all eleven seasons again in a ...

Facts That Don't Add Up
RJ's recent postings about secrecy, and urban legends, and whatnot surrounding the show reminded me that there was a lot to the show that really didn't add up according to stories and recollections from cast and crew members... for example: Larry Gelbart said that they were prohibited from using the...

One-Season Wonders
You guys know about "One-Hit Wonders", right? Where a band or musical group only records one song, that becomes very popular? Or when an obscure band only has one song from their roster than stands out among the rest of their relatively unknown work (like Baha Men with "Who Let the Do...

Favorite Era
I've read that Larry Gelbart, Gene Reynolds, and Burt Metcalfe tend to break up the show into three "eras": Seasons One through Four, Season Five as it's own, and Seasons Six through Eleven; in a way it makes sense, because One through Four is when Larry was in charge, Five was when Gene w...

Jeeter at BCA is going to be sooooo jealous of you, lol.
I never met anyone famous, let alone any of the M*A*S*H cast, but I did once have a penpal whose cousin was Sammy Sosa.

M*A*S*H Art
Has anyone here ever attempted to do M*A*S*H art? Being an artist, I have, and feel like sharing some of what I have... Years ago, I used to also be an amateur cartoonist, and throughout 2006, I infrequently worked on a M*A*S*H comic strips series... http://mashcomics.smackjeeves.com Admittedly, I l...

Re: Who Is Your Least Favorite Character On Mash?
Trapper DID have some good moments during his stint on the show... matter of fact, "Kim" (2x06) is one of my favorite episodes, he really shined in that episode, and it was really bittersweet how he was both heartbroken but happy that Kim was reunited with his mother. :trapper: :trapper: :...

Re: Embed YouTube videos in posts
Coolness, like here's a vid I just uploaded today... PGn0y9H_fVE Funnily enough, I went through that EXACT same thing one time when I was complimenting a girl that I (used to) like, and the conversation really got awkward and I was clutching my chest and was like, "Gee, I'm getting nervous...&q...

Re: Who Is Your Least Favorite Character On Mash?
In all honesty, I think my least favorite character out of the main/regular cast would have to be Trapper... To me, Trapper was a little too similar to Hawkeye personality-wise, but I do understand the writers and producers attempts were to make the two characters "interchangable", but tha...

The temperatures have sky-rocketed, because unfortunately, summer is here... so, to kind of help ease off our misery, let's discuss our favorite heatwave episodes, and remind ourselves, that our favorite docs and nurses know and feel our pain. My top three are, in this order: "None Like it Hot&...

What Are Your Other Favorite Shows?
For me, nothing quite beats the classics... Bewitched , I Dream of Jeannie , Green Acres , Sanford and Son , I Love Lucy , The Andy Griffith Show , various others... back when TV was good. Even Hogan's Heroes has grown on me recently, even though M*A*S*H is still the far superior one of the two.
