It looks like no one has answered. That was the Cowboy, from the episode of the same name. His real name was John

Re: Will Disney soon own M*A*S*H?

I'm not sure releasing it in HD would be a good idea. It was made in the age of broadcast TV, to be shown on low-resolution 480 lines sets, with lots of static and ghosting on the side. The details that HD would make visible would include a lot of things that weren't an intentional part of the show ...

Re: David Ogden Stiers Passed away

I watched "Fade out, fade in" tonight in his honor. He was a great actor, creating a character annoying enough to be a good foil and source of conflict, yet also sympathetic.

An episode that comes across as forced and unnatural. If B.J. were going to stumble/be tempted again it seems that one of the nurses he works with on a regular basis is the natural choice. I like a lot of Season 8 but not this episode. Aggie did come across as a drifter who did not want romantic at...

There was a Sarah. Sarah Miller was one of the USO troop who got stranded at the 4077 in "That's Showbiz". The singer who sang Cockles and Muscles Alive, Alive O.

If I had a time machine, I would have gone back a little farther and tell North Korea not to start something they can't finish.

And a 3-day pass for Klinger.

Maj. Houlihan was an army brat. She didn't really have a home town. Yes, she was at Fort Bliss some of the time, but moved around frequently.

How about Colonel Flagg insead of Trapper. Trapper isn't my type and if we have BJ we don't need a second doctor. However, the 8th Army would be very concerned if Colonel Flagg got lost. They'd do whatever it took to rescue him, and they'd find all of us along the way.

Re: If you were a writer for the TV series M.A.S.H how would you of changed it?

Henry dying is essential to the show. If nobody ever dies, you're not telling a war story, you're telling a summer camp story or something. It's Gomer Pyle, not MASH. Likewise, in a war, they take people they need, and they needed surgeons, and it didn't matter if they weren't the military type or i...

Re: Death of Henry Blake

If you're asking why they had a main character die, because MASH was a drama, not just a comedy. In war, people die. It would be strange if none of the characters from MASH died. If you're asking why Henry in paricular, on a practical level the actor wanted to leave the show. Trapper was also leavin...

DVD. Watch it when I want. Uncut. Subtitles, can turn off the laugh track.

Nice quiz, I got them all too. Lucky guess on whether the credit was based on the film or the novel, though.

Do priests really cheat? Does the end justify the means?

It seems out of character for all of them, especially Margaret, to have a grudge against the 8063rd. They're a medical unit too, not like the annoying Marines they bet against in another episode.

Yes, the Winchester plot saves this episode.

Re: British and American English

Nickels are so called because they are made out of the metal. U.S. nickels were among the first uses of the refined metal. Prior to nickel, they were called half-dimes.

The "dime" term was used for American coins starting with Thomas Jefferson.

Re: British and American English

I think "Yankee" strictly means just from the U.S., or more narrowly from the New England states.
It was apparently not used before 1775, when it was a derisive term used by British troops for the rebelling colonists.
