Re: (02x12) 036 - The Incubator
As we learned from "Divided we stand" and "For the good of the outfit", Hawkeye & Trapper vs. the Army is a formula that works, and "The incubator" is one of best examples. After a hilarious scene with Henry (thar she blows!) and Captain Sloan (Eldon Quick), Hawk &a...

Re: (02x18) 042 - Operation Noselift
For some reason, this episode doesn't sit right with me. It isn't terrible, but there's a silliness to it that reminds me of season 1. plus Todd Sussmann's prosthetic nose looks completely phony..

Re: (02x13) 037 - Deal Me Out
Playing poker was a recurring theme going back to season 1 (they had to do something when they weren't working), but in "Deal me out", a poker game is the centerpiece for this very funny episode. It's very much an ensemble effort. Everybody shines, especially Pat Morita, who almost steals ...

Re: (02x05) 029 - Dr. Pierce and Mr. Hyde
After episodes like "Divided we stand" & "5 O'clock Charlie", this one is a clunker. An overworked & sleep-deprived Hawkeye spends most of the episode wandering the compound in a semiconscious state, asking questions & being a general nuisance, before coming to the co...

Re: (01x23) 023 - Ceasefire
As the episode title implies, news of a ceasefire (or just a rumor, as it turns out) hits the 4077th, and the celebration begins. Hawkeye as usual goes overboard, forgiving poker IOU's, giving away the camp to Ho-Jon and his family, and inexplicably informing his various love interests that he's mar...

Re: (01x22) 022 - Major Fred C. Dobbs
One of the most maligned episodes of the series, and it's easy to see why..the tricks Hawkeye & Trapper play on Frank seem gratuitous & unprovoked, Frank & Hot lips requesting transfers rather than going over Henry's head (what they usually do) seems a bit out of character, but the whole...

Re: (01x21) 021 - Sticky Wicket
One of the better efforts from season one,..Hawkeye as usual insults Frank's surgical aptitude (or lack thereof), but this time around, Hawkeye has a patient who develops complications, and Frank sees if "Dr perfect can take it as well as he dishes it out". This episode, like "sometim...

Re: (01x19) 019 - The Long-John Flap
The story itself is pretty good, although the comedy seems pretty pedestrian; it's obvious that Alan Alda is no Larry Gelbart. still a step ahead of episodes like "Cowboy", and "Edwina"

Re: (01x13) 013 - Edwina
After a couple of solid efforts in "I hate a mystery" and "Germ Warfare", "Edwina" is most definitely a step backward. The second act is downright cringeworthy at times with the silly bullfight music and the slapstick clumsiness.

Re: (01x07) 007 - Bananas, Crackers and Eggs
The whole "pretend to be sick/crazy so you can get a vacation" ploy has been done to death, ("The Honeymooners" did something similar way back when) and this particular episode adds its own twist. Until Hawkeye is placed under arrest, Things are pretty uninspired, the dog in the ...

Re: (01x03) 003 - Requiem for a Lightweight
For me, M*A*S*H was wildly uneven during season one, it had a "Hogan's heroes redux" feel to it at times, Even some of Hawkeye's lines sound like Hogans. "Requiem"is one of those episodes, From Hawkeye conning Trapper into the ring, to Ugly John's instructions on ether, to Trappe...

Re: Who Is Your Least Favorite Character On Mash?
Yep definitely BJ,..Trapper seemed like a "regular guy", Where B.J>. was whiny, self absorbed, and like Hawkeye, self righteous.. I didn't have as much of a problem with Klinger at first, I liked the idea of a scheming "street guy", he was used sparingly, and for comic relief...a...
