Re: Death of Henry Blake

Because McLean Stevenson was a pest and nusance on the set always complaining about the horrible working conditions and complaining about having to play second fiddle to Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers, so when he announced he was leaving the show, they chose to kill Henry so that way they could be rid o...

Re: Highest quality video source

I've heard it said that episodes on Netflix aren't quite up to the same level as on DVD, but I haven't watched the show on Netflix to confirm that. DVD is probably your best bet though, however it varies season to season. M*A*S*H is said to have, "Suffered from its own popularity," and the...

Re: New Logo?

Great.

I hope the gang likes this logo better than the previous one, since it proudly features each of the major castmembers of the show.

Re: M*A*S*H YouTube finds

I forgot we had this thread, but here's a gem I found last year: Gary Burghoff in a skit with Dean Martin as a pair of hobos, but just take a look at what Gary's wearin' ;)

Re: New Logo?

I can't find your email address to send the new logo to you as an attachment, so I'll just hotlink it in this thread:

Hopefully people will like it better than the previous one.

New Logo?

I see the old logo I designed has been removed (I know some here didn't particularly care for it); would you like me to whip up a new one for you, RJ?

Re: Favorite Thing

Hawkeye - The witty one liners that he seemed to have an endless supply of Trapper - Taking his work seriously Henry - His humor and ability to be one of the guys Frank - That laugh! It's hysterical! B.J. - Dedicate to his job, his family, and his principles. Radar - He's very relatable, especially ...

Re: M*A*S*H on AMC

I checked it out, and here's what I can confirm about M*A*S*H on SundanceTV On Demand: they're "HD" in that they're pillarboxed in a widescreen format (so, in other words, black bars on the top, bottom, and sides of the picture), but the picture quality is otherwise very, very poor. Also, ...

M*A*S*H on AMC

AMC has added M*A*S*H to their lineup, and are presently (as of this post) airing a mini-marathon. Looks like M*A*S*H is making its way back to the cable rerun landscape - first Sundance, now AMC.

Re: Who do you like more.....

B.J.- he was a better friend to Hawkeye. The relationship dynamic was more significant between the two men. Trapper was just a buddy to Hawk while B.J. was a best friend. That's how I've felt about Hawkeye's respective friendships with Trapper and B.J. To me, I feel like Trapper's friendship was on...

Re: Father Mulcahy

I honestly can't remember off the top of my head, but I want to say it must be from Season 7, because I seem to recall the scene involving Hawkeye and a mustachio'd B.J. walking into the Officers Club, and Klinger remarking something along the lines of, "Oh, boy, he's just killin' the Happy Hou...

Re: Alan Alda Came to My Town

Very much so, and I can see why he's working on sort of "training" scientists and educators in a way of making their explanations of something more engaging, so that people are more able to really absorb and comprehend what they're talking about. Interestingly, he did two exercizes, one of...

Alan Alda Came to My Town

The University of Tennessee has recently started hosting a series of lectures in the field of communicating science - last year, the guest speaker was Bill Nye the Science Guy, but this year's guest was none other than Alan Alda. The lecture was open to the public, and free, so I attended. It was a ...

Re: Father Mulcahy

I think there was an episode where he was playing a tune, much to Hawkeye's annoyance, so he jokingly asks Mulcahy the tune he's playing, to which he says, "Oh, just an old ragtime I used to play," or something to that effect. There's another episode where he's playing another tune pretty ...

New MeTV M*A*S*H Survey

MeTV had this really interesting M*A*S*H survey to see how popular your opinion is among other M*A*S*H fans - take it yourself and see: http://www.metv.com/quiz/how-popular-are-your-m-a-s-h-opinions I got a 69% similarity result; here's what my personal answers were: 1. Someone else (Radar) 2. Of co...
