Re: Reason of Trapper's discharge
Didn't Radar say he got all of his service points to be discharged?

Re: M*A*S*H Home Towns
Actually, you're right, I had forgotten about that: Nugent was from Harrisburg, Bigelow said she was from Beaver Falls, which contradicts a previous episode ("Images," I think) where she says she's from Chicago. Well, I suppose we can't really go by that, because she said she worked in Chi...

Re: M*A*S*H Home Towns
Sarah is a really significant name for me, so I would remember if I ever heard it uttered on M*A*S*H . . . and I don't.

Re: M*A*S*H Home Towns
I forgot, yeah, I think Bigelow mentions Chicago a couple of times in the series, so. . . .
Lt. Peggy Bigelow - Chicago, Illinois
And I do believe that Nurse Able (the one played by Mike Farrell's then-wife, Judy) mentioned being from Oklahoma.

Re: M*A*S*H Home Towns
Trapper is supposedly from Boston as well. I think it may have been noted in either the novel and/or movie, but the only time Trapper ever mentioned Boston on the show was when he said it's where he interned.

Re: (08x23) 196 - War Co-Respondant
I actually watched this episode again last night: it's still terrible. Everybody's dialogue is absolutely painful to listen to (Father Mulcahy's "Pitching Woo" line is especially cringeworth). I even noticed something this time around that I hadn't previously: the audio quality in this epi...

Re: (07x26) 173 - The Party
Ferret Face, it sounds like you're doing what I do every summer: watch four episodes a day. When I started watching M*A*S*H regularly twelve years ago, Hallmark Channel used to show four straight episodes each weekday, and so I continue the ritual myself every summer to "commemorate" it, l...

Re: Jeep Caps
Gee, since Photobucket has screwed everybody over, I'm going to have to edit the links to those pics so the visual aspect of this thread can be corrected. But anyway, I had to bump this thread, because while I was at a store yesterday, I happened to see another fellah walking around wearing a jeep c...

Re: (02x22) 046 - George
I was watching this episode last night, and . . . *sigh* For many years, people havebeen complained about how dated this episode is and hasn't stood the test of time very well with its seemingly clumsy execution in tackling a subject like homosexuality in the military - and given how this show is fr...

Re: Death of Henry Blake
Trapper was also leaving the show, but the show established Henry's wife and kids more clearly, showing them in a home movie once etc. So if you want to show the effects of the war, Henry's death is a more forceful way to do it. Actually, it's because McLean Stevenson had already informed the produ...

Re: M*A*S*H Parody
I once found a parody on YouTube that I can't find anymore that was M*A*S*H in pre-historic times, and the characters were all operating in caves. The only specifics I remember is Potter (who was played by SEINFELD co-creator Larry David) was the only character whose name wasn't Romanized (i.e., &qu...

There's also the BIOGRAPHY episode "M*A*S*H: Television's Serious Sitcom," which was included as a special feature on the Martinis and Medicine DVD set (as well as the Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen DVD release).
