Re: Does the present day tensions with North Korea effect your enjoyment of watching M.A.S.H nowadays?
It's not really curbed my enjoyment but it has made me stop wearing my M*A*S*H T shirts on dress down Fridays as I'm not sure they are in the best of taste in the current climate.

Sydney because I'd probably need a therapist being stuck on an desert island and he'd be calm in a crisis, Radar because he is resourceful, Potter because of his survival skills, Klinger because he can sew, BJ because he's a good doctor and doesn't have the ego of Hawkeye and Charles and lastly, pur...

M*A*S*H Parody
I recently found this on youtube. I wasn't actually looking for M*A*S*H stuff. I'm a fan of Red Dwarf and Chris Barrie in particular so was looking for his pre Red Dwarf stuff. It's not very good to be honest, M*A*S*H is funnier, but I still thought it was interesting. The sketch is from the latter ...

Re: British and American English
It always used to confuse me as a young Brit watching M*A*S*H when they would call their beds cots. Here a cot is what a baby sleeps in and I thought it was perhaps a joke I didn't get, never occurred to me it was the American term for them.

Re: Best Trapper episodes
My favourite Trapper centric episode is Kim. It showed Trapper had a kind hearted nature under his clowning around and that he and his wife probably had a stronger marriage than one would assume. My favourite Trapper moment was his conversation with Frank in O.R. I don't think would have worked as w...

Re: When did MASH first show in the UK and on which channel?
I'm in a better position to answer this now. Radio Times have just put their old listings on-line and searching for M*A*S*H, the earlist showing of the TV show was from 20th May 1973

Re: When did MASH first show in the UK and on which channel?
I only remember the repeats from the mid 80s onwards. They were shown on BBC2 Wednesday nights and were nearly always the top rated show for that channel. I did check the BFI but they only seem to have info for the repeats. Someone on this forum might be able to help. They mostly discuss British TV ...

Re: Other M*A*S*H like shows.
I don't think there's anything quite like M*A*S*H but I do think Cheers is worth watching. I haven't seen any of the other shows mentioned. I remember someone telling me that It Ain't Half Hot Mum made them think of M*A*S*H but I don't really see any similarities apart from the army setting and that...

Heads Up for UK viewers
M*A*S*H gets a mention and Alan Alda is down as a contributor for the latest episode of United States of Television at 10:30 on BBC2 on Saturday I'll be honest, the previous episodes haven't been great but it might be worth watching. Sadly I'm away so won't see it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0...

Re: MASH Top 10 Episodes
Hi grubsnart. I recently showed The General Flipped at Dawn to a friend (ex boyfriend to be precise) who had been underwhelmed by seasons 1 and 2 and he loved it. Dear Sigmund has a nice mix of poignancy and humour and is a good reintroduction to the characters. Officer of The Day is pretty funny, I...

Any other Carpenters fans here?
So, tomorrow marks 30 years since Karen Carpenter's sad passing, which always makes me kind of melancholy. Any other fans here?
