M*A*S*H Airing on AMC

Cable channel AMC began airing M*A*S*H early last month. I haven’t been able to find any announcement or news articles mentioning the acquisition. As far as I can tell, the series debuted on AMC on Sunday, January 8th with a mini-marathon consisting of six episodes from Season 1.

However, there seems to be no set schedule for M*A*S*H on AMC. A quick look at the schedule for the next two weeks shows M*A*S*H airing at different times on different days. Today, for example, three episodes aired from 4:30AM to 6AM ET. Tomorrow, two episodes will air from 5AM to 6AM ET. On Friday, five episodes will air from 9AM to 11:30AM.

In other words, AMC may be using M*A*S*H to fill time on its schedule between movies and original programming. I haven’t had time to check on my own but reports on Twitter and at the MASH4077TV.com forums indicate the episodes are edited for syndication.

AMC is now the fifth cable channel to air repeats of M*A*S*H. SundanceTV started airing the series last November. Before that, the show was seen on FX from 1998 to 2003, The Hallmark Channel from 2003 to 2010, and TV Land from 2006 to 2013. M*A*S*H also airs regularly on broadcast network MeTV and occasionally on broadcast network Decades.

I’ll try to update my M*A*S*H in Syndication article this weekend to include information about AMC.

  1. MASH seems to keep coming and going on different channels and airing the same shows over and over again . Is it ever going to settle down ?

  2. For some strange and frustrating reason they aired the seasons in chronological order, but then skipped a season.

When they aired Season 11, they did not air the finale.

I got the missing Season by recording it off Sundance, but even Sundance doesn’t seem to air the Mash Series finale.
